The Tradition of Eccles Cake Baking is most common in England and particularly Wales. The Welsh have a sophisticated, artistic, culture and in many ways are the custodians of quality. They appreciate, nay love, Eccles Cakes and produce them superbly.
In Wales there are 3 Regions, North, Mid and South Wales, each with its own award plus National Champions. The National Champions are entered for the Victor Ludorum.
England has been divided into North, Midlands, South East and South West. There is a National Champion who then fights it out with the Welsh for Victor Ludorum.
On occasion we recognise bakers from other countries to provide encouragement.
